About McKinney, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
As the county seat of Collin County, Texas, McKinney has a population of over 131,000 residents. However, this makes it only the second largest city in the county by population, trailing Plano. McKinney has seen a drastic population increase since 2000, some of which can be attributed to the vast employment opportunities located here. In addition to local schools and government organizations, the top employers of the area include Raytheon, Torchmark Corporation, and Encore Wire Corporation. McKinney is part of a humid subtropical climate zone, and because it is also in the Sun Belt and part of the blackland prairies, summers are quite hot and humid. Winters are rainy and mild with occasional snow.
McKinney is home to a wide range of attractions that appeal to both visitors and residents. There are several natural areas that provide for outdoor recreational opportunities, including the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary. Performance art fans often enjoy a trip to the McKinney Repertory Theatre, and area golf courses include the Oak Hollow Golf Course and West Ridge Golf Course. Other popular attractions in the community include the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts and Collin County History Museum.
